If you install the app as a normal app its not gona be a system app ( this seems obvious but the person who said that you should install it and allow non-market apps didnt know this or didnt read my post fully)

Im gona add an edit to my original post cause if you follow that steps its not gona register the new app.

I too faced a similar problem...the only difference bieng i plugged the charger with phone switched on...and it went to coma had to remove battery for that...FOP team it would be really great for you guys to look into it..

I know, you guys will only work on it when the Camera Bug is solved , but i am just asking : )
