the only possible way is come back again to stock version.this can be done by download mode via odin. flash stock version according to your region with suitable modem, after that u can agin root ur gs2 via CF- root kernel.

Well, it its should work. You need to do a factory reset afterwards in recovery, make sure you format /system. Then flash a rom of your choice.

Don't worry about sd ext.

If I flash a new firmware and skip the wipe data steps, will the boot loop problem be solved? I'm trying to avoid wiping data as I have not backed up all my stuff. I know, I know...

My SGS2 is the Korean version (M250K) flashed with a European firmware (I can't remember which one exactly, maybe UK or German; it's multi-CSC: DBT as shown in recovery mode). I am afraid to alter anything because I don't have the original stock firmware. It maybe running on a custom ROM as it has Chinese applications that cannot be uninstalled (I bought the phone in Shanghai from a black market).

Today, after recharging my phone and trying to turn it on, it wouldn't completely start. It goes into a boot loop (only turns on and shows the GT-I9100 logo, then a second or two of the Samsung boot logo).

I'm trying to avoid having to wipe my data - that should be the last resort. Is there any other way to fix my boot loop problem?

BTW, my phone is on OS 2.3.4, and I'm planning to flash ICS. I don't have root privileges either.

Edit: I just found this info about my phone from another post I wrote a long time ago.

Details of my SGS2:

PDA: I9100XWKDF
Phone: I9100XXKDJ
CSC: I9100OXXKDD
Build info: Fri Apr 29 08:31:21 KST 2011

Build number: QUENS.CHS.GINGERBRED.XWKDF
Kernel version: 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKDD-CL161513root@Dell103 #2

In addition, I don't know what caused my phone to go into this boot cycle (it won't even complete the Samsung boot up animation). I did not flash/install any ROM, kernel, or firmware before this happened. I've never actually done anything like those. I tried a power cycle with battery removed to no avail.

Please help me get the best solution. TIA!

Default SG2 Canīt get into recovery mode

Hi there,

i have a SG2 Model: GT-i9100G with Gingerbread OS.
i tried to reach root rights by flashing it with odin i the download mode with CF-Root-kernel.
Something wrong has happend while this process.
how ever while the boot process the phone is caught in a boot loop.
unfortunately i donīt now my exact os build nr, i have forgotten to make a system notice

Ok, i thaught give google a try and find out how resolve this issue.
And these these steps are described at the begin off the boot loop thread:

1) Turn off your phone. Unplug it from your computer etc

2) Hold down home, power, and volume UP. This will enter recovery mode. If you are using CF-Root, you'll get CWM recovery. If not, you get stock recovery. It doesn't matter which appears.

3) Choose to wipe user data from the menu.

4) Turn off the phone by long-pressing the power button.

5) Prepare ODIN on your PC by using task manager to kill any KIES processes, then open ODIN.

6) Put your phone into download mode (home + power + volume down)

7) Plug your phone into the computer using the factory USB cable. The leftmost box should go yellow and an ID number will appear.

8) Flash a stock ROM from those available in ODIN format, and the phone will boot correctly.

But at step 2 is my personal problem, i canīt get into the recovery mode for a factory reset.
Itīs only possible to get into the download mode for me.
so how should i process a factory reset now?

Hi there,

iīm in a boot loop after tried to reach root rights with the CF-Root flash.
now iīm caught in a boot loop and canīt get into recovery mode.
is my understanding right that the only possible way to get a working os again is to flash via download mode a stock version according to my region. But i donīt know exactly which build version of gingerbread i have. Which stock version should i use and where can i get it.
i have the a Galaxy S2 Model: GT-I9100G and a Gingerbread 2.x in for german regiion.
Could you please give me an advice ?

Why isn't this a sticky anymore?
I never wanted to have a signature, but it seems I must. Please do not PM me directly for technical support. I mean it! No exceptions! Thank you.

Everyone (esPECIALLY n00bs) should read this.
