Default Samsung's mobile data sucks

Ive owned several samsung models including the i9100,i777 and i9300.

Mobile data sucks compared to my 4s. Where i get 3g on iphone i get edge on s3.

The most annoying thing sometimes you have full signal, open a website and there is like a 15 second hang. Tried different modems, fast dormancy settings and nothing seems to work. Its very annoying tbh.

What the? I get the complete opposite! 4S on Vodafone UK along with most of the iPhones before it (3GS fared better) have given me some of the worst data and signal reliability I've ever experienced. Nokia's still the champ, though the S3's holding up well so far too.

My wife and i also get this in the UK, on two different networks. I've only experienced this on the S3, not the Note, Tab or S2 though.
I hope for a fix soon.

Really strange since I experienced the opposite when I upgrade from S2 to S3. Used to get like 1-1.5 down and 0.1 up, now I get like 2+ down and .5 up.

For reference: 1010 HK
Rom: WanamLite v 1.4

My results may not be relevant being from Australia but I was getting about 4-5Mbs with my HTC sensation and coming to the S3 i'm averaging 5.5-7.5Mbs. Still not as great as my work colleagues Galaxy Nexus who almost always pulls 1Mbs more when doing a speed test at the same time.

I must agree with you, i had the same problem with my iPhone 4s and now i can use viber and Skype without wifi even at home where i was not able to do so on vodafone on my iPhone 4s even with full signal

Erm... 4-5Mbs is better than 1Mbs...

He says "1Mbit more" so it's 4+1 to 5+1 = 5-6 Mbit/s =)
have a cup of coffee, that should get rid of your deep-sleep problem.

Please verify if both mobile phones are connected to the same antenna.
The S3 is blazing fast (compared to iPhones), however I've had the same issue as you.
The reason was that my provider kept (and still keeps trying) to push APN settings with a stupid HTTP-proxy which is completely overloaded and half of the time breaks the connection anyway.
Just remove the proxy IP (if any) from the APN settings, verify it's gone and try again.
If you have an account to paid VPN, you can also try this as it should give the same accelerated speed.
