Woah... What? o.O If you are asking me how to unlock the bootloader - it can not be done.

I was talking about how developers got hardware acceleration completely working. And yes, the first build is made for Froyo kernel and you can use it on green lense DEFY. You can find it here, the latest one - http://defy.wdscript.fr/defy-cm9/
  • DEFY+ | CM10.1 May 16th build by Quarx | 1.1ghz
  • DEFY+ (bro's) | White Rabbit v2 NextGen by TweetyPeety | 1.1ghz
  • Xperia U (mom's) | ICS stock | 1ghz x2
  • MyAudio 708M tablet (A13 SoC) | AOSP ICS [rooted] | 1.1ghz

It feels so different now that hwa accel works properly! Great job! Hope this method allows to update other drivers when needed in the future!

Sent from my HWA ICS MotoDefy using Tapatalk 2!
In the school, the three guys met. Their relation had been changed in the season, and turned into three love stories.

This thread should be closed.
Even If I'm as happy as the next guy about having full HWA, that does not mean we are achieving 100% potential of our defy. Due to the blocked bootloader, things like zcache, or UKSM are going to be impossible on our defy, and considering how resource hungry ics, and apps in general are becoming, those could be some really handy improvements.

UKMS in action:

We still very much need the bootloader unlocked. Maybe we got full HW, but face it, Defy is not the fastest phone on the market. Even a little kernel modding can produce enormous speed difference, even with a stock rom.

With the unlocked bootloader defy, overclocking can get up to much?

Are you saying its possible to get those things working even with a locked bootloader?

More info about UKSM here

Maybe our chinese friends could give us a hand with the translation, if its possible to port it.

I'll have to take a look at that.
But I've read that KSM is only useful if you're running multiple VirtualMachines.

Is UKSM specialized for android so it does more?

Its not specialized for android, as far as I know It does the same as KSM (dunno whats the difference besides the "Ultra"), it just detects when two memory pages are the same, and only stores one, I thought this could save us some memory, since we have many copies of the dalvik VM running at the same time (one per app).
So yeah, we are running many virtualmachines actually.

The only thing that can save us from the downsides of Dalvik is if it was written with C#, like in XobotOS.
