The screen with the caution triangle sign next to the Dell logo. Scroll through the menus and wipe Delvik cache, wipe data...and finally do a factory reset using Dell recovery (important) which is found at the the screen you get to when you restart the device and hold the volume up & down buttons together. Hope the helps. Let me know...yeah!?. Hospice. Cheers[COLOR="Silver"]

You need the correct radio and baseband. Look around the forum for the correct version for GB ROMs and you will be good.

Default Thanks guy

Hope you'all had a happy 4th (American!?). Sorry dude..that it took me a lil' while to respond to your help request about the flashing LEDS... It's nothing big deal to worry about. I has no negative effects on your device besides the flashing. Those guys above me answered it all. You need to flash the Gingerbread baseband. The flashing LEDs is simply a way your dell streak tells you the New OS and the current baseband are not in agreement. I on the other hand left mine that was..I though it was cool..I liked it...and sometimes it flashes like that when the screen is dimming. You can always fix it..and I'm glad the steps worked well for you too. Leave thanks. Cheers

I just got this device yesterday and have no clue how these things work...all I did was to follow your steps 1 by 1.

I did get to understand from other forums that the issue is BB and OS mismatch but how to upgrade the base-band

like you gave step by step for upgrade the OS and that you already know what I am facing...can you please put up another Stepwise procedure on how to go about updating BB from here

regards

Better you flash official gb 407 Olleh rom so you don't need to update amss.mbn and dsp1.mbn, they all include in that rom.

First you must know that our device hv 2 recovery, press vol up + vol down and power button then you will get into Dell recovery (black with white font colour), choose number 2 then it will take you to stock recovery or streakmod recovery (black with blue font colour). Every stock rom must match with stock recovery (depend on which region or carrier), or if you hv a rom in .pkg format in this case gb 407 Olleh rom must use stock recovery 350. Thanks to Themanii who chnge gb 407 Olleh rom into .zip format so we can flash the rom via streakmod recovery. You can search or google that on Dell Streak 5 XDA wiki.

1. Flash stock recovery 350 via fastboot
2. Put update.pkg in sd card (root sd card, do not put in any folder, just in sd card) get into dell recovery, choose number 2 then get into stock recovery, choose update. Wait untill the installation finished (be patience, don't touch anythings, it take a bit longer time than other custom roms) then get into dell recovery choose number 1 or factory reset. Let the phone boot up normally, after that get into fastboot and flash streakmod recovery.
3. You can flash any custom roms now via streakmod recovery.

Unhappy Help please!

Hi Guys. I'm am an avid reader of this forum, however registered lately cos now I'm in trouble!

This is my first experience in upgrading. I followed the method on Pg 1 on my DS5 stock ROM (2.2). All went well till the last step after which the ph never booted with the "dell" logo showing on forever. So I removed the batt and tried to reboot, selected option 2 (upgrade from SD card), and then it gave an error (attached pic) - E:Error in /sdcard/update.pkg.dec (Status 7). Tried restarting with the same option multiple times, with the same error.

I'm sure there is a way out. I know i'm acting noob, as I dont want to take any chances now. So kindly assist! Thanks.

EDIT: Also, ideally how much does it take (from last step) to update the ROM? I waited for ~30mins before restarting.

EDIT2: re-ran the recovery and then upgrade from SD card. Kept it there for 3-4hrs this time. Stays at the Dell logo. HELP!

EDIT3: Re-started couple of times and its showed the Olleh logo and booted!! LEDs are blinking, guess the baseband issue? Solution please??
