Some root questions

Hi guys,
I want to root my wife's Charge. i have a lot of experience rooting HTC phones but I have never looked into Samsung rooting. its seems Odin must be a root tool?

I did not see any topic in the dev this dev section that popped out at me about rooting.
It would be appreciated is someone can point me in the proper direction.
