Thumbs up Cheers!

Hey guys - sorry - so much activity - I'm out for tonight (more than a bit buzzed) and off away tomorrow with the kids for an over nighter (yeah, I'm an old dude). I'll reply to anything as I can - as well - anyone can PM me and I'll help as much as I can - if I'm around I'll gtalk. Hope those new to fascinate get over their hurdles and start flashing - the rest of us have been there, so don't 'get out of our hair' we're happy to have more folks around eager to flash.

Cheers to all!

Might give that a try...for now I froze Google search

Regarding Semaphore: I finally found the Script Manager that comes with the kernel and made changes there to max freq=1200 and governors. While they do stay set after a reboot in this app, I can't select smartassV2 from NsTools - I can only OC by 120% - and didn't have the balls yet to make it persistent on boot.

Am I missing the point in configuring Semaphore and these extra features? I've been reading the semaphore kernel thread for a while but it's a bit confusing since some of the notes are old.

You don't really need to configure the app, most of what you need is already set up, however if you use tethering at all you'll need to activate the netfilter script, and the touch wake is really awesome

If you do decide to make it persistent on boots, just in case it ever decides not to boot, you can always boot to recovery and clear the nstools settings.

Flashed back to stock 2.2
Updated to 2.3.3 and flashed speedmod kernel
Flashed Glitch from page one here via cwm
flashed cm9 (this step was probably redundant as flashing the linked Glitch kernel from the OP probably accomplished all this was meant to do. Also, CM9 booted with no boot loops.)
wiped everything via cwm (data, cache and davlik) and flashed DarkyROM 11
... copied EFS folder back from the backup I created

Flashed back to stock and everything works again. ICS for this phone seems to be a WIP.

Thanks, tethering I managed to figure out from the forum and got working,
Flashed modem KG3 as well, didn't seem to make a diff as far as radio signal is concerned ( -99...-105dB).

Let me go back to Semaphore kernel settings:
- i checked 1200 MHz
- smartassV2 gov
- netfilter - which worked, since now tethering is OK.
All are in the init.d folder...but NsTools still cannot select the governor.
Only thing I can do is OC to 120% as I was saying.

......aaaaaaaand the kernel thread has 500+ pages...yikes!
Any hint what I'm missing? I assumed that after setting the scripts, I would see the options in NsTools or CPUMaster.

well there are no samsung ics roms for the Galaxy S, and there is no development for our phones really which is why we use i9000 roms.

that being said, the nexus ports of ICS - some are really good. I know Finn loved Miui on his, I've been using Slim since 3.6 (and this is my work phone), and looks like we have a growing user base on DarkyROM again

so it's not a straight forward flash but the roms are definitely pretty good as daily drivers
