Well, it could be a good idea. I'm really disappointed with my Galaxy Tab. It's one of the slowest device I've ever owned. My 2005 Pocket Pc with Windows Mobile had a smoother UI, and it wasn't smooth at all.

I'm selling my 8.9 and already pre-ordered the Nexus 7. I'm tired of the unreliable ROM's and certainly can't handle 3.x with TW. CM9, AOKP and others still have enough issues to make it annoying and I'm not counting on stock 4.04 w/TW to be any good.

Quite frankly I'm tired of Samsung and their software in general. Probably going Google only devices going forward.

If you don't live in the U.S. you're probably not going to be happy with the Nexus 7. There is virtually no content (music, books, movies, etc) available to users outside the US due to rights restrictions. The one exception is the UK which has a small selection.

Sounds like you have a defective device or you aren't closing out of apps properly. Could even be a cranky app. My Galaxy Tab isn't slow at all and with ADW Launcher EX it's very smooth.

I don't see that as a bad thing, since a large number of people get that stuff pirated anyway. Since Google is not allowing full access to Play Store content, and we can't buy even if we wanted to, piracy seems like the only option.

I've placed an order for a Nexus 7 16GB. I am likely going to sell my GT10.1 once I have a chance to play with the N7 for awhile. I have liked the GT10.1, but from a portability standpoint I think I will like the N7 better. Plus with it being a Nexus device updates will be timely, which will be a very welcome change from the GT10.1.

Won't happen, mainly because Google doesn't want to sell it at a high price. The Nexus 7 was ASUS's MeMOPad for $249, with a few adjustments to knock it down to $199. ASUS's cheapest 10.1 inch tab is $379, which is more expensive than the Galaxy Nexus. Should the tab be more expensive, yes, but when you have the oppurtunity to undercut ****, you do it. That's why the Kindle Fire and The HP TouchPad were a success (after the fire sale).

Default 10in vs 7in

I love my Gtab10. It is thin and light. It is a very convenient and useful tablet.
The new Nexus at 7in is going to be nice, too. But as a general tablet it is too small. Still not small enough for my shirt pocket. Only a phone or iPod Touch fits there. The Nexus total screen size is only 24 sq in vs the Gtab at about 45 sq in. Huge difference in surfing the net or watching movies.
But we will see how the battle goes. Phones are getting bigger screens all the time.

I think I'd only trade in my 10.1 for something with much longer battery life and a better screen outside. I can't think of a reason to spend so much money for another tablet that does pretty much everything exactly the same as mine. Tegra 3 might be newer but you can only make your web browser go so fast. And that's the primary purpose of mine.

Games are for my Xbox. Videos are for my TV. Work is for my PC.
