No, I did but I still don't really understand the benefits of it. I guess a more simpler or "Explain Like Im 5" description if you mind helping me out. Just switched over to android/GS3 and trying to learn as much as I can.

Thanks!
Well the kernel is overclocked so your processor can run at faster speeds but you are sacrificing battery life and the phone will get hotter. Roman also decreased the voltages which saves some but not very noticeable battery. Right now this to me this is just a test kernel and proof of concept in a sense. The kernels for this phone will get crazy and your battery life and speed will only get better as more devs get GS3s and they start working on kernels. Also some roms will come with custom kernels. I'm sure when roman releases AOKP he will also release a custom kernel with it.

Yeah, I used this Kernel for testing and playing a bit, but went back to the stock kernel as I wasn't seeing enough benefit in real life application to warrant the extra (however small) battery drain and wear and tear on my CPU. As long as you have a nandroid backup from before you flash this kernel, you can use clockworks recovery to do an advanced restore of the boot.img only to restore your stock kernel without clearing your whole rom or raising your flash counter.

With google wallet working and 7-Eleven right down the street, a slurpee would be nice if you feel like spotting me one. They're cheaper than beer. Just click the pic.

I don't know. They could I guess. Hope someone figures out how to reset that some day.

After 3 days of testing I can confirm that this kernel works flawlessly on my SGH-T999V! Thank man, good work!

Hi,

I don't want to spam the kernel threads, so I'll point you here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...&postcount=592

Briefly, a bunch of us want to see if FM can work and we need kernels/modules with this in the config:

CONFIG_RADIO_ADAPTERS=y
CONFIG_RADIO_IRIS=y
CONFIG_RADIO_IRIS_TRANSPORT=m

Could you build this ?

Thanks !
I need "time off" so please refer yourself to ALL the info linked to post #1 below. Compatibility list, FAQ, info links...

Just to confirm what others are saying. SetCPU and rom toolbox are not applying their settings after boot. SetCPU is showing the settings but the CPU is actually still running at 1890.

I've upgraded to the newest CPU sleeper (1.9) from the store and this problem seems to be gone. Before it didn't matter what speed I selected, it stayed at 1890. Now it limits it. Not sure if this is a fluke...

I'm using 1.9 of cpu sleeper as well and still have the same problem. It will limit the max to 1512 if I manually do it each time after a reboot. Here's a SS of what happens. This is after my phone settles after a reboot with 1512 selected as max and "set on boot" selected.

As you can see it's remembering the settings, just not applying them. The same thing happens with System Tuner and Rom Toolbox as well.

Other than that this kernel has been great for me.
