So I bought the housing off ebay, it came with a spudger, but no screwdriver. Is a philips zero fine? That's what it said in the ifixit review, but I haven't been able to find anywhere else to confirm. Should i buy some guitar picks to help get the screen away from the housing? Anyone who's done it, what would you say is the easiest way to ensure the housing comes off smoothly, without damaging the screen?

Did your order come with volume and power keys?

I have no idea about the screwdriver's size because mine came with the housing. You do not need the guitar picks. They may make it easier though. I did not use them. I just used the little tool they sent with the housing. Just take your time with it and don't force it. It will come off. Work the tool all the way around the screen a few times prying just slightly and it will come off.

Well, parts4repair was nice enough to give me a refund, as they were out of both components.

I went ahead and bought one of the complete sets from rb-sale-s. Marked as shipped today, so we'll see how long it takes to get to Dallas.

DONATE TO ME
I went ahead and ordered one from rb-sales on eBay. Package arrived at my house today and I'm out of town so I had my sister go open it for me. It looks like the housings that seller sells do indeed include white volume and power buttons. WAHOOOOO. When I'm back from Belize next week, I'll get some pics up for y'all.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium

Yeah, I sniped one of the auctions and paid about $70 including shipping. Just really keen on the buttons and everything being part of the same set.

I do agree it's quite pricey, but I'm really keen on a uniform white look that won't get stained like a TPU case can.

Hmm, true, but (not trying to start a fight or anything) wouldn't it be better to sell the phone for maybe 300-325 local and just pick up a brand new white one for $400?

I'm debating the two but leaning towards the buying/selling.
