Wallet on n7

So you may have noticed that the latest OTA brought us wallet on the n7. Is this usable considering we don't necessarily have data while shopping at a store? Does wallet require data?

does a credit card require data? all it has to do is mimic the rfid signature that the wireless credit cards use.

I've been using Wallet since the day I got it at I/O and now you don't need data to use it. The NFC chip "remembers" the last balance on your account when you had a data connection on the device.

I can't picture myself going into a store and tapping my tablet on a pay pass machine. Its like taking a self shot with a tablet. Doesn't work

It also says "Unsupported Device" which means it might not work at all. We won't know until a brave soul pops one out of his man purse & uses it.

I can see maybe using google wallet on n7 maybe at a coffee shop and that's about it. It just seems weird waving a tablet to pay for something, seems better with a phone maybe.

Is the free $10 google wallet credit still alive? And does it apply to the N7?
