nvm plug too fat

You could still do the wire mod like the other guy. What matter is volts, polarity and sufficient amps. In other words, the voltage has to be the same, the polarity has to be the same and the amperage just has to be greater than or equal to....so your 2 amp (or 200 amp!) power supply would work just fine because at the end of the day it's only going to push as much as the connected equipment asks for.

If you think of it in terms of a liquid, voltage is the same as pressure, polarity is flow direction, and amperage is the amount of fluid that can be provided. So while my 4.7L engine has a fuel line that is ~3/8" in diameter and a jet engine has a fuel line that is ~4" in diameter as long as the fuel pressure was the same and I hooked it up to the right place my 4.7L could run off the jet engine fuel line, it would only use as much as it needed though (so flow RATE would be very low). On the other hand, hooking the jet engine up to the 3/8" line would place too much demand on the fuel system and you'd see fuel pressure (voltage) drop way off and probably burn up the fuel pump and the motor wouldn't run.

The down side to using a power supply much much larger (current wise, amps) than design is that it increases the risk of problems if you get a short. The more amps that the power supply can push the greater the disaster will be if things go wrong...you could potentially have an arc welder on your hands and some point (but not in the 2A range...lol)

I cancelled the order after reading the thread, but you never know if someone else wants to risk it.

Why not just by the real OEM adapter for the online store.

What Walmart do you shop? No deals on their website.

Nope, but I went it, they were 14.99 at my wal-mart. They were also relabeled (sticker over "A500/A100 series") with all the different (newer) iconia tab model numbers...

Default hhmmm...

I am still looking for one. Just cannot believe how expensive these things are. Origional one detached under the pressure. I did purchase a longer back up one from Acer when i bought the tablet. Guess I'm going to just buy from Acer again. At least I will know what I'm buying. Wish I wouldn't have let my husband try to fix it, it is still under warranty .... live and learn.
