it's actually pretty easy. first you gotta make sure device is rooted. then you wanna unlock your bootloader (there's a thread on that. read that very carefully, the whole of it). after you're done with that first download the ROM and put it on your sdcard. then flash this kernel (instructions are in the OP) and while rebooting press the back button repeatedly and you'll enter CWM recovery 5.5.0.4. from there wipe your data, cache partition, dalvik cache and then install the ROM. pretty simple once you get used to the process.

Bug found:
I have FAT32 and swap partitions on my SD cars, but when I do a full wipe in CWM it formats my swap to ext, so I have to reformat it back to swap with my PC
Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 i8160P

I have GingerDX v0.18, with original kernel, not linux dx. Can I flash it normally or do I have to go back to stock?

well if your bootloader's unlocked, you should be able to flash this kernel normally. just don't forget to boot into CM9 by flashing it the first time you turn on your phone.

I'm kind of lost. I already have n.Aa 11 kernel now I wanted to upgrade to this one (the ics one) but somehow it won't flash. the flashtool keeps aborting the process
My X8 is coughing and its ill, but it still works
