Whats going on folks, sorry we've been somewhat distant over the last week... We've been neck deep in ramping up for JB4.1. We've been receiving a ton of emails & direct messages from all of you with the various baseband/ril/data issues as well; I thank you for that effort. I wish I could bring some groundbreaking news however it seems we've only reassured ourselves even further to what our initial assumptions were. So with that said here's a brief rundown of what to expect and where we're at...
We're in the process of merging jelly bean 4.1 into our working source tree right now... so much has changed in the source its taking some time. Google had to surprise us with a nice little 'gotcha' and now CSM is restructuring from the bottom up. Once we're happy with the source we will begin compiling. Then move on device by device troubleshooting as we go.
After we get it working on this device we'll begin any troubleshooting. It's just a waste of more time playing with ICS bugs at this point. This phone is so cumbersome, there's like literally a million different configurations depending on the supplier/carrier/country/region... there's a ridiculous number of variables and possibilities. It seems like as soon as we fix it for N number of users we have just as many that it breaks for as a result. It's just about as ridiculous as it gets, aside from manually setting up 50 different configurations/rils/downloads I don't know how we're going to tackle this. It's basically the same as developing for 50 different devices ...but its just for one phone model. So with that said, as soon as Jelly Bean compiles and runs on this (hopefully any day now) we'll talk about bugs/issues again. These issues are because of all the different manufacturers tweaking their hardware just enough to make it not work with anything similar. Once you have too many hands in the pot things get real muddy. Thanks for your patience and we'll be updating this as soon as possible with 4.1.

man , you make me hate my phone now
anyways,,,, it is amazing to see you guys working hard to bring us the cutting edge ROMs
yes i know, but oOo B0XeR oOo PMed me asking if any ICS ROM works with my phone, and i thought he might get some hint from the CM fix.
I'm not sure if my message was sent, therefore post it here again.
Spent a bit of time testing basebands with the 5.5 test build - none of them worked.
I tried 0521, 0614, 0218, 0420, 0725(froyo and gingerbread versions), with a variety of RILs. I also noticed that the 5.5 build did not seem nearly so smooth as the stable build - don't know if this is connected to the BB problems or not.
I know the devs are working on a JB build now, but though I might as well share my results.
