As there is no definite proof that you did htc-Dev Unlock (other than registering in their database by giving the unlock token during the unlock process... Also for non htc-Dev method every troubleshoot is covered.... You can check the troubleshoot section in my soff guide (point 3 of troubleshoot even gives tips/hints in doing wire trick)

Ay the end your call... As both the methods won't keep any visual traces on the phone that you did htc-Dev Unlock... And the non-htc-Dev method even prevents registering with the HTC
. But at the cost of wire trick being little bit difficult
(also remember when you do Htc-Dev Unlock it wipes your entire data of the phone)

Thanks for clarifying. I found your guide as well and will probably try it without HTCDev and that can always be a fallback if I can't get the wire trick to work.

I've gotten Soff, isntalled custom recover and am now trying to write SuperCID, but when I go through that option in the utility it is asking me what CID I want to write and the link in the OP is not working. What do I user for my SuperCID on a TMO Sensation?

You were supposed to type 0 when it asked if you want to add a custom CID.

Default Hard keys not working properly

Hi kgs, I am facing a very interesting problem.

Few days back, my vol up button stopped working overnight. My music and everyything responded fine only to vol down and not vol up.

To check if it was a hardware problem, i decided to boot into bootloader screen and check both the vol keys there. But my phone just wouldn't go into bootloader.

Now i used kgstool to reboot into bootloader. And guess what - my vol down was functioning as vol up. vol up and power button were not functioning at all!! I had to battery pull to reboot into rom coz power button wouldn't work.

So now I'm pretty sure there is something seriously wrong in my software. Idk where. Would be glad if anyone could give any hint. Have also posted in ARHD forum.

Reflash firmware.
If that doesn't fix it, flash an RUU.

Yup already thought about that. Tried it using your tool. But here's the deal. I can't reflash firmware coz my power hard key doesn't work in bootloader screen (it works properly in the rom). So I can't select 'yes' to confirm in the boot loader. Is there any way I can bypass that and confirm through the computer itself (without touching the cell at all?)

Hello,

Thanks for putting the tool together, very helpful. I was getting lost trying to follow through the other guides. I am trying to S-OFF my sensation with HBOOT 1.27 after having the mobo changed. I get temp root and am struggling with the wire trick. I then tried to put the phone back to how it was using controlbear -r but that just runs the program again and asks you to do the wire trick? If you try to run it with -f it says there is no option.

If it is stuck like this tomorrow I will continue trying to do the wire trick. Any help to revert it back to normal in the meantime would be greatly appreciated.

I had same issue and on orc it was told me to run the undo command you find in tools folder: it removes the temp root and makes phone boot up again. Please before messing up wait the solution from an expert user, because I'm a newbie...
