Hi folks....So i think I found the thread that I need. I mistakenly flashed a wrong .pit to my i9300. I couldnt tell for what variant it was...but now I need to revert back, cause my phone wont flash the new rom. I am looking for a .pit for the 16GB variant of the i9300.

Thanks...

Ah.
I searched around a bot about that and found the "Qualcomm Product Support Tools" - looks interesting, there seems to be an "EFS Explorer" in it.

However, is there a way to implement EFS backup on those devices in my own app (trying to update kTool to support those devices)?
I "only" have the int'l I9300, so can't experiment around :-/

You could maybe do it from the phone by connecting to the modem tty and sending the correct commands to backup the EFS, but you would really need a phone to be able to sniff the protocol (HDLC), to get the commands. The EFS Explorer is cool, can see all NVM params and their values.

I was afraid of that.... so w/o having direct access to such a device, I might just give up on adding support for those devices to my app....

Ohwell, maybe on some rainy sunday I'll throw that EFS Explorer into IDA....

there might be a firmware that is packaged into one big .tar file instead of several like they have for the sgs1 and 2. Search for it they used to call the separate 3 part firmwares "low level" requiring a pit file. However with a single tar firmware you DONT use a pit file

thanks again.you are right about firmwares and i did it many times for SGS2.
stock firmware is downloading now and it takes 3 hours to finish.
i want to know which .PIT file should i use now? cause odin says needs it.just this
i want to wake up my phone without flashing stock firmware.it should be fine after changing kerenel,i will have access to recovery then and i know what to do then.
