Default Problem with StickMount, OTG, powered hub...

I am running ICS (hellfire) with hashcode's 6/8 kernel. I have followed the below video pretty much to a "T", having purchased the identical equipment, and I have gotten the Kindle to recognize my 16gb DT109 thumbdrive. I have watched some videos that were stored on the thumbdrive. When I first installed STickmount I seem to remember it asking for SU permission, which I granted.

Now, however, Stickmount will not recognize anything. I have un and reinstalled it several times. I have SuperSU and Root Explorer installed. StickMount is no longer on the SU list and I don't know how to get it to ask.

I did try what seems to be an identical app, Ntfs Mounter installed too. That app actually did ask for and receive SU permission. Yet it still did not mount the drive.

I'd be willing to say it was a bum piece of hardware, but I HAVE GOTTEN IT TO WORK BEFORE. It simply won't anymore, though.

Any ideas?

I made that video, so I'll try to help! I found the best fix for me was to turn off the power to the hub and then turn it back on, if that didn't work I would restart with it plugged in. If you're using the battery powered USB charger, have you tried changing batteries? (also, have you tried using USB host controller?)

Thanks for the response. :)

Forgive my ignorance, but what is usb host controller? I did try a lot of what you recommended, but to no avail. I really dig your portable setup and I'd love to get it working.

It's an app in the market. A clean re-install of your ROM might be needed if you haven't tried that.

I put a lot of time in setting up hubs and customizing the look of my launcher. Would I lose that if I reinstalled Hellfire's ICS ROM? Or is this a case where I wipe Dalivk, Cache, install the zip again and it will keep those things set up for me?

It shouldn't as long as you don't do a factory reset.

Reinstalled hellfire's ICS ROM. Still getting nothing. Despite it working before I'm willing to allow that maybe something went wonky with the otg cable. Can you link me to the exact cable you bought motioneso?

Does your OTG cable wiggle in the kindle at all? Or even your charger? You might have bent your USB port, which is fragile and bends easily. I actually just had your same problem with my kindle when I tried to use an OTG cable, and the USB port on my kindle was just bent up a ton.

Doesn't move too much. But thank you nonetheless for the suggestion.

I found a cable on Amazon that someone says verifiably works on the fire, so I ordered it. We will see if that's it.
