My mistake then, as I hadn't read the OP in a few days and didn't notice the change. Hope you get your tab back soon. I should get mine back in about a week or so.

I've managed to boot into recovery and to install root with the zip. I've unistalled a few stock apps from acer and google with RootExplorer (Titanium Backup doesn't work).
In the end i did not use the buttons to get into recovery. I just used the adb with the command "adb reboot recovery". That worked fine also!

Until now everything works fine.
Thank you for your help!!

Just be really careful with any other options than install from zip in cwm

Hi Guys,

I have a Problem with my A511 and i send the Tab to Amazon back.

How can I delete the recovery again?
I've tried to flash the Stock Rom (Acer_AV041_A511_1.011.00_WW_GEN1) But it did not work because my Acer A511 is a german Tab with german Stock Rom (Acer_AV041_A511_1.028.00_EMEA_DE).

Thank You
Sorry for my bad englisch :/

the best way would be to have access to adb, and to push the stock recovery with dd command.
but it will not remove the unlocked bootloader, as would a new firmware

I haven't been able to test this but I think reverting to stock recovery isn't that difficult. Try the following:

1. Rename the file back (step 12 in OP):
Code:
adb shell
cd /system/etc
mv install-recovery.old install-recovery.sh
mv install-recovery.oldnika install-recovery.sh
mv install-recovery.offsh install-recovery.sh
2. Do a Factory Defaults reset using the Vol+/Vol-, Poweron, toggle rotate switch method (this will take place immediately!)
3. Reboot several times

During these steps the following will happen:

1. The fact. defaults will clear root
2. The rename will install the recovery at some place (therefore, reboot several times)

If you really want to install the 1.011 rom you will have to remove the first line (assert blah, blah) and sign the rom back or install it with cwm... but that is... dangerous...

Regards,

Nika.

Hi nikagl,
i need to install the stock recovery as well and tried what you have described above. But I don't have the install-recovery file in system/etc

I installed CWM and rooted with your root-a51x.zip.

I also tried to install the stock recovery you have posted on the first page with adb, but when I try to boot into recovery, there is only the Android lying on his back with a red warning sign.

Btw, the A510 and the A700 don't have custom roms yet. Are there any problems with our tablets or are there simply no devs atm?
