We've done some private testing on the Supersonic / EVO 4G recently. So far all testing has been good and there have been no bricks. We believe that the bricks were caused by a problem in the mtdutils source code that we were using in the 2.0.0 releases. We have updated this code to the latest available from the CM repos and that seems to have fixed the bricking. So, I'm going to open it up for public testing for anyone that's willing to take a chance. For your trouble you will get a recovery with a full touchscreen GUI, an on-screen keyboard, zip queuing, etc. Note that just booting the recovery was not what caused the bricks. I think it was restoring a backup that included boot.
If you try it, post if it's working for you or not.

For adb, use: adb shell flash_image recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.2.1-supersonic.img
From terminal emulator, su first then: flash_image recovery openrecovery-twrp-2.2.1-supersonic.img

Good luck!
Will this be added to GooManager for easy installation? I have no problem installing it through fastboot or HBOOT, but I'm just thinking ahead.

Thanks for keeping this alive!
If we can get enough people to test it and there are no bricks then we'll look at adding it to GooManager for automated installation. I don't want automatic installs at this point.
I was using 2.1.2 with no problems. I haven't really put the latest version through the paces yet. It did queue and flash a ROM & GApps with no problems.
I did have an issue trying to flash a ROM through GooManager, but that's because the sd card mount couldn't be found (in Evervolv JellyBean preview, /sdcard is symlinked from /storage/sdcard0). Any way to get that working without changing how the ROM mounts the sd card?
P.S. I might have downloaded it multiple times by accident .

I've only switched over to this recovery this morning, made a backup and flashed Digitalkarma's rom without issue. Really, no issue to speak so far but I will try a restore later this evening.
One thing I really like is the amount of information I see in recovery. From data backup space, wimax backup space, total backup space, battery percentage. Those things add a different feel to this recovery and nice added feature that's really nice, thank you
Edit: Nandroid restore works great, no troubles here. Thanks for the update

I also just tried the Terminal, and I notice that when you type a line in, and get the output, you have to delete what you just typed to type something new. Is there any way to get it to automatically clear after input?
I assume that issue will exist on the Jewel version as well (haven't tried that feature yet on this device).
P.S. This recovery really is cutting edge. I don't suppose there's any way to support accelerometer rotation (I assume that would require very specific drivers and a lot more additional coding by device, if it's possible at all). Just wondering if it was being considered.
P.P.S. Is there any way to hide the soft keys, since the device has capacitive buttons? (it'd be nice to do this on the Jewel too, but I again assume that'll be more trouble than it's worth for you guys, probably).

A swipe left on the keyboard deletes everything to the left of the cursor. Not quite automated but sometimes it's nice to keep the previous command both for reference and in case you just want to make a small modification to the previous command.
It would be fairly easy to hide the soft buttons. I'll think about it.
