Just a question...

Curious as to why are people so fixated on installing CWM recovery when TWRP is much better and actually recommended for most of the ROM's in the Dev section? (CleanROM being one that is known to have issues/untested with CWM)

I had CWM on my old Atrix (still do) and it was good, but TWRP is much better and so easy to install - no ADB required, once rooted and unlocked just install GooManager from the market, hit menu and Install OpenRecoveryScript and you are done - EASY!
Sony Xperia Z - Stock .434 - rooted - locked bootloader
Nexus 7 - Smoothrom - M-Kernel
Retired: HTC G1 Dream, iPhone 3G, Motorola Milestone, HTC HD2, iPhone 4, Motorola Atrix, iPhone 4S, HTC One XL, Sony Xperia S, Sony Xperia U, iPhone 5
If anyone helped you remember to hit "thanks" - cost's nothing!

If I RUU will it remove the *tampered* message on the bootloader or is that there for good?

Yeah it does...

The only thing that stays is the relocked if you've unlocked the bootloader...

Thanks a heap mate. And so long as I use the original one, not the update I'll be able to root again with the normal ausdroid method if I need?

I can confirm that it does not work if you have applied the OTA and are running 1.89.
