bootanimation was crashing since first build.
simply delete it
We used to have big phone's, but we want it as small as possible.
Nowadays we want a bigger phone, the smaller it is the crappyer the phone is :3
irony?

Got video working (sort of).

Download MX video player from play store.

Before you attempt to play a video open MX player, go to settings, decoder, check software decoder.

Then you can watch videos.

this is very nice after settling the a few reboots, very smooth even w/o HWA

also the boot anim crash is purely due to initial install, wont happen again

also, boot time from off to lock screen: 15sec!
