Google makes more money from iOS than Android, which is why they haven't come at Apple head on. The Motorola patents are a gold mine, but Google bought the company to prevent Moto from unleashing the patents on other Android manufacturers. Google will probably be forced to use the patents down the road. The 3g patents they own could, in theory, get an injunction against all 3g enabled iCrap . I prefer that not happen and the lawsuits simply stop because it's not good for anyone other than lawyers who have been enriching themselves.

As I said before.. If the only "smartphone" out there in the whole world letf its the icrap.. I'd go all the way with a small dumb phone that allows me to do/receive phone calls and sms..

And back to my laptop.. Not giving icrap a single buck

not really. if i remember correctly, they are under FRAND. so they cant fully block off a manufacturer

All of apples patents are under FRAND as well.

This doesn't change my opinion of Apple. I still like them and their products. If they're awarded a patent, then have every right to use it.

Filing for patents that they know won't hold up in court if they go to trial is still wrong. Apple has lost already ten times more suits than it has won.

Not in the world just the USA, while the rest of the world enjoys Android and windows phone 8, well be stuck with the iPhone, and since they'll have no competition they can slow development to a crawl and make you buy their next phone to get the full incremental iOS updates. RIM could make a major comeback with their old blackberry phones...unless apple owns patents on their stuff too.
