this is a good tutorial! thank for it. But my suggestion is, why not you provide s-off hboot? it easier for all this step.

You will need to find the specific RUU for your region and connect your phone in fastboot and run the RUU from your computer, this will make it like stock again, so you will lose root etc....
Current: Samsung Galaxy S4 Running: Stock... for now
Current: LG Nexus 4 Running: PACman v22.1.1 [4.2.2]-Xperia'd
Current: Sony Xperia Z Running: JellyBeer 4.18 - Inverted
Remember I don't do this for Donations... Just a simple thanks will suffice

Default root hboot-1.28.0006, locked, S-ON, ICS 4 without unlock ?

Hi guys,

I recently bought this android phone, and I made the official update OTA (Eur). Now my device is on hboot-1.28.0006, locked, S-ON, ICS 4.
I was wondering if it's just possible to root it, without unlocking hboot with htcdev.com (to execute Titanium backup for example). I think it's not possible but if someone knows...

Thanks for your responses !

You're confirming what I was afraid of.. Anyway, thank you for your response.
Otherwise, does someone know something about this tool : unlockroot.com ? The devices supported list is a little bit confusing ... (you can read runnymede 4.0.3) ...

Firstly, flash this superuser zip to get root..... (thanks to Vertigo)
Once thats done you can sort the storage issue.

Rom does not detect my storage.

1. We need know what HBOOT we have and we need to have rooted phone.
2. Download ES File Explorer from market.
3. Turn it on and go to Setting.
- Tap the 3 option on.
- Up to ROOT
- Root Explorer
- Mount File System

4. Go to /system/etc folder and find vold.stab
5. Edit on text editor and find this line:
PHP Code:
dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard 34 /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host
and change the number.
(For HBOOT 1.25 is 33)
(For HBOOT 1.28 is 34)
6. Restart the phone.

When I 1st bought my SXL I had the same issue. This fixed it for me.
Hope it helps.
