so none of the covers listed affect GPS signal? only NFC is broken?

Not that I have seen in mine. Gps works ok for me

Received mine today with the black metal backing. Hasn't affected my wifi signal and the effect on LTE speeds has been minor (dropped maybe 4mb/s on average). Will test NFC and GPS later

I have one these battery covers. I stopped using it after realizing it knocked down my 4g speeds from 30mb to 11mb

For ppl wondering if this affects your wifi, I can confirm it does. Here is my story. I bought this metal case (Green & Blue and then this metal frame I used both together and I had no wifi issues untill after 3wks of use. My wifi started to disconnect almost all the time and then to reconnect takes like ages. I tried everything, I thought it was Lima and Wifi auto on that am using that was causing it, I unistalled them, factory reset and even flashed a fresh stock ROM, still my wifi won't connect. Reluctantly, I removed the case and it connected but the signal was so poor that I cannot open a page.
To cut the long story short, it got to a point that my S3 will not connect to a wifi from a distance greater that 1-2m away from the router. But as soon as I place my phone on top of my router it connects.
Again I said maybe its my router, I decided to tether with the phone to see how good the signal would be, to and behold, the signal was so weak that nothing was able to connect to it, that was when I knew my wifi antenna is fried.
However, since I used the both together, I can't really say for sure that either one of them caused it independently, so the only way to stay safe is to not use any of them ever again.
I didn't notice any issues with my network connection but can't say such about GPS bcos I hardly use it.
Well all thanks to warranty, I returned it to Handtec and got a replacement though am still furious about the DHL freight cost that I paid for the return.
Pls don't use metal back cover if you love your wifi.

In all honesty from your experience we wont be able to ever know if this was fromthr metal frame or cover or both. Likely to say that both together may have caused an issue.
I was able to connect to wifi from my apartment and from the apartment on the floor above in the uk block of flats that I live and although the signal wasn't perfect I didn't notice a serious issue. I have to say that I don't use wifi for ling periods though and don't know if this has an effect.

I tend to wonder though why would a metal cover or bumper be an issue to damage an antenna since htc one s has a whole alloy unibody with top and bottom plastics alone. Surely that unibody would be an issue at some point as well, wouldn't it? Unless its the metal bumper that caused it.
