So I've been on this rom for about 24 hours now... And I'm loving it. Missing some stock touchwiz stuff but oh well, first time on CyanogenMod. And this is definitely stable enough as a daily driver (for me) its just the dang media server (I've installed that one app: rescan media root and I don't think it helped?) Lol anyways this is some fairly decent battery life.

Edit: it stayed alive longer

Angry help?!?!?

So, I've made this fairly cool/funny cm10 boot animation.. and for some reason i can not get it to work.. I have never made one for android, but I am sure I am doing it correctly. Was wondering if someone out there could help me out if you have any experience or let me pm you the bootanimation.zip dropbox link. I was planing on releasing this to the public, but not if i can't get it to work. It's not that great, just something I put together in a few hours, but much (if any help) would be appreciated.
ps, i posted this in here because it is related to cm10 and thought at least 1 out of every 10 of you would enjoy it until we get an actual cm10 boot animation
i will be up for another 10 mins or so, and will probably check back in around 10AM CST
pss, and yes i tried in both data/local and system/media, im just ticked i spent 4 hours on this thing, and another 2 trying to get it to work :P

Which means that I'll need to get CWM on my phone first, correct? And then DL the zip and flash the Kernel, and then the ROM? And then, apparently, flash some GApps? And for the GApps, which ones? The "untested, latest versions?" or what?

Thanks all!

I'm sure you must have used creepyncrawly's post to root your phone. If not check it out, it has the full instructions on how to get a custom kernel with CWM. Once you have that then you can flash as many roms and kernel you want. Here's the link for it.

no go on restore data from nandroid.
Restore full nandroid and then back up apps with titanium. Then you can restore to cm10. The main thing you DONT want to do is restore any system data/apps (dont even back them up). I've yet to run into a problem restoring any market apps on any ROM. Worst case there is, is the app won't be compatible with JB.

What version of gapps are you using that Google now works? I've tried the latest from ROM manager per the op but that's ICS and just opens regular search. The one from goo.im listed for CM10 gives me an FC when I try to search. Is there a specific one that works ?

With regard to rescan media root app. If you rebooted at anytime you need to use the app to kill media scanner on reboot

Seriously? Do more searching, hardware limitation of reboot on low battery. Affects any firmware.

Not just hard freezes, any reboot.

If you're new I strongly suggest starting with something more stable like CM9.

Any one got a fix for the Bluetooth being wonky? I love this and it would be a dd but I use it in my car for music and phone calls. Calls work if after I make the call I change the speaker. But for the life of me I cant get music!

Default Link to fixed update script

For those having issues with the "error 7" I have deleted the lines of code and uploaded it to mediafire for you. I couldn't get it to install on my phone no matter what firmware I ran before so I used Note++ and editied the update script and it installs perfect hope this helps someone
