most of photo editing apps can be used with the S-Pen. I use photo editor way before I got my Note and never used S-Memo/S-Note. Papyrus and PicSayPro uses the full functionality of the S Pen (like the button for a specific action and pressure sensitivity). Skitch is more likely the S Memo clone, and OmniSketch is like the EX version of S Memo/S Note.

Yup. Right when you open the app you are able to grab anything from gallery, file, etc. As soon as you choose it, it shows up on the app and can be edited with your pen. You can also take a picture with the camera right from the start screen.

Also has tons of upload options and integrates with evernote.

Go to System Settings > Storage > tap menu key > Storage Configuration > then check "Use internal data". Don't do it now or you'll boot loop and need a full wipe and reflash.
