Default M4a files playback problem

Hi everyone,
My galaxy s3 recognizes all m4a files on my extsdcard but everytime I choose to play, it shows that m4a is not supported. I'm using FoxHound ROM 1.3 and Siyah Kernel 1.3.9c. I don't know whether it relates to the ROM or the kernel. Anyone please give me some advice
Thanks!

Thanks for your answer. But with the same that sdcard, my Atrix 4G running CM7 has no problem to play those files. It could be the lack of codec in the audio library.

Thanks, I'll try to convert them to mp3 files. Just still not understand why my old Atrix with CM7 ROM can run them as a charm.

Format is more than just the container like m4a or mp3 and the problem is that some players wont touch formats that dont match whatever they choose as their limit so to speak .

You're right. I tried mx player and it can all files well. So I should change to another music player program. Do you have any suggestion ? A software that can play various types of file. Mx is not really convenient for music playback.
