Default Logcat Analyze - Random Reboots of HD2

hello together,

my beloved HD2 (EU Model) is subject to random (daily) reboots, no matter what kind of ROM I've installed (2.3.3, 2.3.5, 2.3.7, 4.0.4, w/Sense, nonSense). This morning I catched it rebooting. When I tried to wake it up (PowerButton), the ScreenSaver appeared, I unlocked the device, then it freezed, and after a couple of seconds it rebooted.

No I have attached my actual CATLOG. Any idea on what the reason could be??

I'm currently on the latest Energy (2.3.5, Sense 3.5) Build, with 5/200/5 layout and a 16GB SD-Card with 1GB SD-EXT.

Any help is much appreciated! Thanks a lot!

Greetz
Tom

Hardware problem means? Memory (RAM) physically damaged? Have you ever had a similar problem?

Sorry couldn't stop myself.. Have a nice day

btw your logcat is clean, nothing wrong about hardware or anything about reboots..
could be bad blocks, boot your phone into the tri-color screen, attach the usb cable and ensure you have the "old" usb driver installed, you will find it on the definitive mtty thread for HD2, launch mtty, select usb in connection and press ok, a prompt comes up, type "info 8" without quotes (press enter ofcourse) and post the output here.

Oh, this is wrong section btw, thread reported.

Hello Rick, since I'm working with the same SDHC for at least 2 years, without formatting at any point, but with a lot of changes from ROM to ROM, I decided to reformat de SC-Card completely (with SD Formatter), and then install the ROM up from the scratch. Good or bad idea?

Angry SIM Card related problem

Hello everybody,

Well...I'm suffering from the same problem you all are talking about here, random reboots (even in stand by).

I was researching here in xda, about this problem, and there's a lot of possible causes of this issue:
  • Overheating
  • Bad NAND Blocks
  • Motherboard soldering problems
  • Related problems with service provider signal and SIM Card

I can tell you that I suffer from overheating (playing games, youtube, browser, the back case gets very hot), and Bad NAND blocks (2 on boot partition, 1 on system and 2 on userdata) but it seems that's not the problem (for me).

I live in Chile and I have a T-MOUS (1700/2100 for HSDPA), I used to use it with movistar (850/1900) SIM Card for the last 5 months, but with no data plan due to the fact I could not use 3G here for bands incompatibility. I recently switched from provider, to Nextel (1700/2100), and voala, 3G started to work, and in the same time, problems with freezing, random reboots, high battery drain, etc...

I've tried a lot of solutions, like turn off automatic time and zone, auto backlight, manual network selection, etc, but none of these worked out. I was about to resign when I switched sim cards with my girldfriend for an experiment of signal-loss during one night, and the HD2 (with movistar and NO 3G) started to work again with no reboots, normal battery drain, etc...

For me the problem is the 3G data connection (I use ICS ROM from tytung, with RMNET, i tried PPP but I lose connectivity, no 3G). I don't know if theres a problem with the 3G itself or if the signal carries something that causes all the problems (I reed somewhere that T-Mobile once changed something in their signal and problems started to appear). I wish I could try another 3G provider, but here Nextel is the only one for my T-MOUS that opperates in the bands I need, so there remains the question.

Now I'm registered in another network (Nextel R), that is their 2G network, and I've data connection via EDGE, and it's working flawless as expected. I don't know if there's a fix for this problem or if I've to resign.

tom2lee, can you post your actual network situation and datablan etc, so I can compare the case with mine, maybe we can help each other.

Thanks

Hi Zaidor,

thanks for your descriptions! I'm living in switzerland, which is a very small country in the midst of europe (north of italy and south of germany). We only have 3 network carriers, where two of them are sharing the same infrastructure. I'm personally registered at the "Sunrise" network (www.sunrise.ch). This carrier offers the same network options as "Swisscom Mobile", the #1 carrier here in Switzerland. Depending on pricing plan you can have anything up to UMTS performance. For me, with a quite cheap plan, there's only remaining GPRS/Edge, which is enough for my daily sync needs. For the rest I'm sporting a fast W-LAN at home and at business site.
I also tried nearly every type of ROM, and I'm sure the problems wheren't there with the old froyo roms, some years ago...

But anyway, I'm now living with that I think, due to the lack of alternatives.

Be blessed!
Tom

Have u tried with a different CPU governor and a higher minimum cpu freq?

I use tytung ICS v2.5 rom, with PERFORMANCE governor, minimum 576mhz and maximum 998mhz...works, no freezes.

Try and give me some feedback

thanks
