If it needs 256 of ram and that is all that the D1 has wouldn't that mean it could run it just not anything else. What is the point of that?

You are correct about the ram the hero has like 150 or 190 something like that don't remember but, the Hero CDMA can overclock to 768MHZ max. So yeah lol.. Y'all have a big advantage on internal storage too. The Hero CDMA has about 156 or something and I believe y'all have 512 or something like that.. Well point being, after slapping ICS on the Hero CDMA, you've only got about 70 to 90mb free space. Y'all may have 450 or 430 and y'all should run ICS smoother than us cause of ram. ICS is a ram sucker to the Hero CDMA. Don't know why but its just that way. Lol. I don't know if I cleared up some stuff or not I currently do not own a OG Droid. I've had a Hero CDMA and Evo Shift now I'm currently with the LG Spectrum. Love it lol. Sorry for going a lil off topic, I'll consider helping the OG Droid with ICS. I've ported paranoid android and ICS and I'm about to port JB with a lot of steps. I think the OG Droid can make it there, although that may be the last update ( sadly said )

This was one of my first Android devices. I loved it, but unfortunately this device has been EOL since Froyo. ICS and JB wouldn't run well enough on it, so there really any attention to porting anything newer than GB. I hate to say it, but the D1 is dead, let it rest in peace with the rest of the Legacy devices.

Got that running on my D1 right now. With Swapper running with 256mb RAM via my microsd card its running quite beautifully.
