I just bought one today, it's supposed to be unlocked, tried my tmobile sim but nothing,the Mobile Network box is greyed out, what to do?

maybe you didn't set the right APNs

called up tmobile, bad imei number.. sitting with a paperweight now, anything else I can do?

Most likely when a IMEI number is blacklisted, it is only blacklisted on the specific carrier. Try using an AT&T sim card.

I put it in and its still showing limited service, whats wrong with that

So since the T-Mobile Amaze 4G can get 3G and 4G service from AT&T, does taht mean it is using the 850 band or another one? This is so confusing. Everywhere I look have different info. I need to know if the T-Mobile version supports the 850 Band for 4G

Never buy phones where you cannot verify imei or get refund. How did you get it?

There is only a tmobile version of the phone. Bands are here http://www.gsmarena.com/htc_amaze_4g-4097.php (easily found by googling Amaze 4g specs)

2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 1700 / 2100 or HSDPA 1700 / 1900 / 2100
HSDPA 850 / 1900 / 2100

Att bands are also easy to find http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AT%26T_...quency_Summary (also easily found by googling "att bands")
Frequencies used on the AT&T Network

Frequency Protocol Class
850 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2G
1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2G
850 MHz UMTS/HSPA 3G
1900 MHz UMTS/HSPA 3G
700 MHz LTE 4G
1700/2100 MHz(AWS) LTE 4G

So if you compare the two, you have all the info you need. Google FTW.(Hint, the amaze only doesn't cover the 700MHz band, but that is LTE anyways.. just in case you couldn't figure this out).
Sorry if this seems like a jerk reply, but the information was so easy to find, well.. not sure there was a more appropriate way to respond.

So you were able to use AT&T's 3G and 4G on your T-Mobile branded Amaze 4G? AT&T only uses the 850 MHz Band for 3/4G only, right? no other bands?
Really dying to get clarification on this :-/
