As people have been saying, if you get stuck on system.img, unplug the tablet and put it into recovery mode (3e or CWM works) and do a full wipe before trying again.
This solved the issue for me.
Currently running the update on Rogers GT-P7500R no problem.

If I flash this on my US GT 10.1 will I still be prompted to update once they let loose the US Region update?

1- Download Odin 1.85 (you must have the drivers on your windows machine)

3- register an account
4- put in the info about your device and choose your region to be Italy
5- download the approbriate update
6-extract the .zip file
7- put your device in download mode and connect it to your PC
8- click on the PDA and choose the .md5 file
9- click start your device will reboot a couple of times
10- you are running Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich on your GALAXY Tab 10.1

I tried to install the italian stock, it flashed with Odin in 4 minutes, rebooted, showed me the android logo with the diamond inside(??) then rebooted again, i slept and woke up after 1hr and a half, and it was still showing me the samsung logo flashing. i reboot and get stuck here after i get the samsung jingle?

So what's next for me. i was running on HC 3.1 stock, and i had it only rooted to install some apps.

Should i go back and wipe everything and reflash through ODIN same as the OP, or do i ttake a different route. Luckily i backed up my important data

People who are stuck on the samsung image... I had the same problem. I went to download mode and via odin flashed back to HC and then turned the tab on. Once the tab started and asked me to add google account etc... I just turned it back off and download mode and flashed ICS again, worked like a charm... I did not loose anything all settings apps, wifi passwords, google account, emails etc was intact thus saving a lot of time... All the best guys... And thanks to the ones who helped me with the solution on earlier pages....

Default ICS 4.0.4 battery life

Hi Guys,

I have to say, i'm dissapointed regarding ics 4.0.4 related to battery life. I'm from croatia and i've updated it to the italian version. So on honeycomb 3.2, if i had put my tab in airplane mode and wifi off, the battery could be over 10 days, 1 percent per night in idle mode.

Yesterday, after ics 4.0,4 update, the tab spent over 30% of battery over night while doing nothing, also airplane mode and wifi off.

So could it be that I am doing something wrong and some processes spent the battery or do anyone have the same complain?

BR
