The Unofficially Official Acer Firmware Thread

Wow it's been a long time!
I thought I'd rewrite the OP considering so much has changed in the firmware department recently....

This thread serves to solve two large problems:
1) Acer do not offer via their servers (which changed names and caused this thread to be created originally, but none of the files were deleted) all the files we tablet enthusiasts may need. For example, they do not have any unbrick procedures hosted.
2) Vache's FTP is currently unavailable.

The solution is this thread! It is a list of every firmware file I have come across - and some others. Some of these files are leaks; others are official updates. Either way they're here. I am in the process of migrating these files over to three servers to offer them via torrents. By using torrents the most important / popular files will have the best download speed as more people will be downloading them. Remember: the more peers the better!

I currently have two seedboxes sharing these files along with my home server (meek upload speed, but still there nonetheless). I will be pushing these torrrent files up here so that you can all access old files again. however, we no longer have some files as they were on Vache's FTP. If a link is dead, and you can fulfil the request, please PM me! Credit will be given!

**OLD POST BELOW**

It seems Acer have decided to be *really kind* and revoke access to the Firmware ROMs via the futuredial links. Also for personal reasons Vache has had to take his site down. These two factors together mean that we have download access to a LOT less files than before which is causing issues for newbies (principally) as they do not have the files downloaded already.

So the goal is simple: get somewhere to gather the files, upload what we have and make them available to the rest of the community. We need two things:
1) People with files (initially just firmware zips and EUU packages. We could store rooting tools etc. too later on) that can be reuploaded (no viruses / tweaks please. We want stock files for the rest of the community). Perhaps we should have them pre-decrypted (takes a minute or so for the uploader and saves time and effort for downloaders)
2a) Somewhere to upload them too. Whatever this place is should have sufficient bandwidth for the quantity of downloads and support the storage of files up to ~800MB each (ie for EUU packages)
2b) Seedbox(es). If #2 isn't feasible (for whatever reason), perhaps offering the files via torrent (and a private, dedicated tracker?? Why not?

) would save bandwidth and provide speed for downloaders

If you have either of these three things to contribute, please let me know by replying to this topic. I don't mind people having ads on #2 to support their server costs as long as they are SFW and without popups (we all hate popups :P)

I hope this will be a useful project. It's not the most exciting but we need a fast and resilient way of distributing these files. Over the past few weeks it has become evident that Acer does not want to support us in getting firmware files so we'll have to do it ourselves :P

All firmware links go in the post below. If you have any links feel free to post them and I'll add them!

EDIT: Although a central repository would be nice, we don't need one immediately. Most, if not all, of the useful files are below. Enjoy

LIST OF FILES
Please note that none of these files are rooted and/or tweaked! They are stock Android ROMs from Acer and designed for stock recovery!
Flashing them will remove custom recovery and/or custom bootloader! You will be fully stock! Update zips may not install if you have modified your device in any way. If unsure use a full package! You need an EUU package only if your device is bricked as it will be completely wiped clean in the process!

NOTE: For all ftp:// links you can just use any modern web browser!

NOTE 2: Please ensure your MicroSD is formatted to FAT32 if you are using any update zips!!! This is very important!!! Also check that your file name is update.zip and NOT update or update.zip.zip or Update.zip. The ONLY correct spelling is update.zip - all lower case with ONE extension!

NOTE 3: Many of these files have now been migrated to torrents and seedboxes. Feel free to use those links! I have confirmed with Moscow Desire (our resident moderator on this forum) and he says he is cool with this distribution method Also feel free to seed if you have server resources!

HOW TO READ THE FILE NAMES
For example: Acer_A500_4.010.38_7.006.01_COM_GEN1
Acer_A500: Device Name
016.01: Your current version (you can check it in Settings -> About)
016.08: Updated version
COM_GEN1: Device region (generally). Depends on ROM. When doing updates you must keep this the same for the update to work correctly. When using a full package you can use any region but certain languages may not be available.

Flash these files in APX Mode to restore a bricked device! You will need your CPUID!
EUU: APX Upgrade only packages (we currently don't have any of these). They do not wipe out user data
EUUs: APX full packages. These wipe out all user data and permit both upgrades and downgrades, regardless of the currently installed software. This is why they unbrick.

I can provide full stock ACER A500 ICS roms , nothing changed , SO STOCK = kernel , bootloader , recovery , odexed.........no root hack, nothing !!!
SO if you flash these you are full stock with locked bootloader and stock recovery !!!
Call it "update.zip" and place it on your external SD and enter recovery.
I just need a place to upload them.

I only upload if someone needs it.

And SD_PB_G100W_1.007.03_COM_GEN1 for the PAckard Bell HC 3.0.1 original

Let me know if you are you want these. Maybe I can use the collective server but I don't want to overload as almost all my roms are hosted there.

WRT: 2b. I wouldn't mind seeing a few files. My desktop is on effectively 24/7 and i dont have a data cap of any kind. What I am limited by is hard drive space and upload speed, which, while sufficient, could be better.

Maybe we'll make separate lists for different Acer devices later on (ie A70x)
