on the 8/6 build, my search bar no longer says google. Just the magnifying glass. What's the deal?

I'm still running 8/2 and it's really really awesome, until you make the phone work real hard (play a 3D game or something). That's when the touchscreen stops responding and the phone heats up like crazy. I know it's just a little guy, but I think that this level of instability could be fixed...

Maybe a different kernel? I don't want to lose any functionality that already exists (mainly BLN) in this ROM. Maybe it can be fixed by something in Performance Settings?

Does anybody have any suggestions?

Default Lots of Random Reboots

I'm not ready to put the blame squarely on this ROM just yet, because I did get my Nexus S 4G used for a hundred bucks off of ebay, but a few days after I rooted it and flashed the initial version of it (was it 7/23?) I started getting lots of random reboots. Sometimes it will lock up with a black screen after attempting to wake it and I have to do a battery pull, sometimes it will reboot completely on its own, and even worse: lately it's been getting stuck at the initial boot screen with the Google logo and the unlocked icon at the bottom, and it won't proceed after that even after several battery pulls, and instead I have to go into recovery and flash a nandroid backup; but that only seems to alleviate the problem for a while, because it will all just start happening again.

The crazy thing is that I like to use a white noise app when I sleep at night, and it never happens overnight while that's running, and I've tried letting it sit while running adb logcat to see if I can catch any error messages, and it never happens when it's doing that (although I still think I need to try that again because I did only try that for about a half hour), and it never happens when running alogrec either. It doesn't let me turn on Deep Idle in the settings, so it's not that (I think), and I'm not flashing any custom kernels.

This isn't my first NS4G, I had one for a long time before this one but its screen broke and I'd like to have this ROM working because it's the smoothest thing I've ever run on one. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.

I flashed 8/6 last night and I don't know if I'm just getting used to JB or what but the 8/6 build doesn't seem as smooth as 8/2. I'm using the "stock" G apps that doesn't have the CM camera add-ons and the original kernel that comes with the rom.

lol. ROM MD5 isn't a ROM. Its the checksum for the ROM file so you can verify if your download was thoroughly successful. (Look at the filesize of the md5, it is NOT a rom). So just download the ROM.

Try flashing gapps. I noticed the same thing when I testing the ROM prior to gapps being installed.

I love that enabling in-app search is a System option now.
