check my old posts, it's been covered. In short, you need a "Dualshock3 Sixaxis" controller for it to work. (Can also use wired XBox360, but no GameKlip for that yet)

Dualshock adds vibration feedback to the controller....I haven't paired a pad yet to the S3 but I wouldn't imagine it'd be different from the process of pairing to sixaxis (app) on my tablets. A sixaxis one without dualshock works perfectly and I've already paired a couple of different ones to different tablets. And no, you don't need a ps3 to charge the controller, any powered USB port will work.....unless the clip only works with a dualshock controller? Been looking at one of these, great product/idea.

Thank you for the information! I wasn't aware that there was a non "dualshock" version of the controller. I charge mine on my laptop, as I don't have a PS3 either

Edit: also watch out for fake PS3 controllers! Some are obviously fake, and some are incredibly well made. The fake ones supposedly would work fine with a PS3, but I had issues when changing the Bluetooth address for pairing with android.

I bought mine on Craigslist from a local person. Got black one for $30 and white (to match my phone) for $25 (USD)

could also try local trade in stores. trade in some old CD/DVDs and grab a used PS3 controller for a few bucks.

Do you need a sixaxis controller with the six axis app?
