It did in the first hour or so, but now it wont anymore...Kinda weird - I havent done anything but installing apps like facebook, opera etc..Is this a known problem with GingerDX?
You need alfs for gdx not alfs for cm7 ^^

Why not try going back to stock kernel and flash a rom for it? I'm stuck on stock kernel but i've never had any wifi issues at all. Just a suggestion though.

If you want gingerbread , use Xperience 9
if you want ICS, use MIUI 2.6.2.9 (y)

First of all, I'm sorry for asking this kind of question, but Please bear with me man.

I'm looking for a good STABLE rom with stable battery life, good performance etc, for my sister. She's tired of hers Xperia X8 since it feels slow and react so damn slow.

I'm a SGSII user myself, so I dont know nothing about X8, but I promised her to try and improve her phone's performance so I would be grateful if you could tell me which rom's I should take a look at. Since it is my sister he knows nothing about tech-related stuff, so the rom needs to be stable and good for daily usage, since if anything goes wrong she have no clue what to do

I know XDA hate questions like "what is the best rom etc..", but I'm just asking for your personal experiences with the different rom and what you would recommend for this kind of usage

Thank you XDA!
ok so weirdly enough it seems that your x8 battery won't last more than at most 2 days (with sms and call usage). So try GDX or if her manufacturing date is before 11w29 you can try one of the ROMs requiring custom kernels. If she wants to play HD games then try to OC and use V6 supercharger script by zeppelinrox.

You could tell her to check out lucastan96's tread which compiles (almost) everything for the x8 into one post. He's awesome, try that post.

Thumbs up HTX MIUI, with supercharger and alfs8acm7 kernel

Go for HTX MIUI v1.0.0 nAa/alfs [24/7/2012] GB 2.3.7/CM7 ported to x8,
1. Its stable and visually appealing too.
2. You can use superchager script and make it even more fast.
3. go for Launcher pro launcher, the one that comes with the Rom is not so good.
4. make a folder by the name as 'theme' in Data\system inorder to have the themes working, but beware while using themes you dont apply the lockscreen that comes with the theme because they are created for HDPI phones and our X8 is a MDPI phone.
