I think some of the guys on here have been a bit harsh on you. Its not wrong to want a long battery life, in fact, its a good thing, it saves you having to charge it all the time, useful for long periods of time without an outlet (vacation, hike, etc) and depending how you look at it; save power, overall longevity of the device, etc, etc.

But, like the others have said, android works differently which im sure you are aware of. All the small details amount to a lot, take out widgets or adjust the refresh time, go to sync and check your accounts. If its your battery, then get betterbatterystats and see if some processes are keeping the tab awake otherwise, like above, turn the wifi off when the screen turns off.

I hardly have widgets and have set the wifi to turn off, it lasts a long time whilst its off. Trust me, its much better than it used to be on some of the previous versions of Android, ha.

You are not using standby.

Turn your wifi off when it is not charging.

I charge mine maybe twice a week. And that is with about 10 hours reading books, a few hours gaming and surfing.

The battery on this is better than the iPad.

If you keep the Nexus7 constantly doing stuff, then it isn't in standby, you are actually using it.

Turning off wireless is definitely a solution (see my post above on this thread), but it is not ideal.

More so, if you are blaming apps, blame Google's own apps also. Cos they keep refreshing all the time as well.

I find it *extremely* hard to believe that your tab lost just 2% over 24hours. For me, the tab loses 2-3% in 12 hours when the tablet is in Airplane mode. So either I have a weak battery or you have a strong one. God knows.

For your last point as to why people leave their devices sitting around. Well, different people use their devices differently. I just use the tablet for a couple of hours in the evening. Vacation, travel for work, blah blah blah. There can be a thousand reasons. You can't fault them cos they don't use their tablets.
You do know there is a sync toggle that turns off auto sync correct? Also most 3rd party apps have an option where you can specify how long to wait before updating.

Credit me with some basic intelligence.
Yes I know all that.
Still stand by my arguments that battery management in Android has to go a long way for it to catch up with iOS (as much as I hate Apple and all that).

If you only get 3-4 days stand by on Nexus 7, thats bad ...

Because my Galaxy Nexus with only 2000mAH, can stand by more than 3 days ... All with wifi on.

My HTC Desire, an old one, it can stand by for more than 5 days with wifi off, mobile data off.

I expect Nexus 7 should last longer on stand by.

Ok, it has bigger screen, but it has way much bigger battery. And we are talking about stand by here, the screen is turned off!

So, there must be something wrong on your Nexus 7.
