Well, I don't think that ICS will run fine on it just because it is based on ICS kernel. nAa's GB kernel is based on SE eclair kernel sources, but Eclair won't run on his kernel. nAa ICS kernel is based on nAa GB kernel, but MiniCM7 won't run on it.

Well, JB and ICS are quite similar, as mentioned only a change in ramdisk (addition of some files) is needed to make ICS kernel work on JB. nAa GB kernel contains much more than a ramdisk change from stock kernel, hence it won't work on stock 2.1. Same goes for nAa-ics kernel. Anyway GB and Eclair are quite different, along with GB vs ICS.

Exclamation Bugs

Hi,

After a week of testing out, I've seen some bugs. Overall its a very nice ROM, I love the speed, although some apps take some time to boot up.

First bug applies to the screen, this is one of the first things I notice.
In some cases, when I unlock my phone, the screen doesn't come on fully. It seems that the brightness is not turning on completely. I can unlock my phone, I tested this with my pattern lock. I applied one in the beginning, and I recognize the vibrates of the phone, so, I know the code and positioning on the phone, I can do this blindfolded, so when I unlock it, it goes to home screen or to a program that is still open. What I do to test it is, doing my lock pattern a few times, because with every dot I hit, I get a vibrate, and mou times, the second time I do it, it doesnt vibrate, that means I'm sliding my home screen, but I see nothing. So, to me, it appears to be a brightness issue, it forgets or has an issue with brightening the screen.

Second bug is Xperia Home crashing. This most likely has to do with memory which is an device issue, but it would be handy if some more background processess that are unnessessary could be removed.

Third bug is GPS.
It seems that it is not functioning.
Could you please take a look at this, as I have no idea what the status is of the GPS device or how to check this.

Fourth bug is music with headset.
When I plug my headset in, it will still play through the build-in speaker.

Last bug is slow app start up.
As I mentioned earlier, this apply to some bigger apps. To give somem examples, Phone, WhatsApp and Messages load fast. Less than a second. Facebook and twitter take a while longer, especially Facebook, which takes about the most time of all apps of opening. I test this by closing all other apps, firstly tested facebook. It took about 2.5s to initially pop-up. Then twitter which comes up right after I tapped it. Then WhatsApp, same timing as Twitter.

Overall still a great rom. I love to see it fully featured (Camera, FM Radio at least.)

Facebook App was not recommended in ICS and JB for this device. It needs a lot of ram and eat your battery. It's not rom's issue.

Send from my E15i using xda premium.
Press thanks if helped

After using some apps, I often have FC. It happened with Facebook, Tapatalk 2, music.
And with Dolphin Browser, after using it a few minutes, the app closes without FC message and brought me to the homescreen.

It means your device runs out of memory, which makes it close the most RAM taking apps. It's not aFC, just our X8's specs.
