WOW! I guess you learn something every day. I though that pressing the reset button with the stylus WAS a soft reset. I didn't know that pressing the power button for 5 secs did anything.
I winder if that's where I've been going wrong with other registry settings.

it is not working,i have installed the cab in my system.how and what do i do from there on.i went to keyboard layout and changed it to 0407 from 0409 but nothing happened after softreset.

After "running" the .cab, the soft is installed in \program files\WizKB

Open file explorer, go into that folder on your wizard and run WizKB.exe. Select you external keyboard in the combobox, tap Ok and accept the soft reset...

That should work.
