This is true, but if I were to remove the posts talking exclusively about the kernel or battery life, the thread would be almost 20 pages lighter. For the record, I am not the Mod asked to remove these posts.

Brother at what point did I state any of your rebuttal statements? I I never stated to speak for E. Or his team. Again all kernel questions should be directed to the post in which you got them as is proper forum protocol. I never stated for anyone not to run it. I again I state this is not the proper location to reference or ask questions that directly relate to the device operating function.

Please re read my post.

I don't weigh in to these type of things often, but my take on the matter is that the ROM is not kernel specific, nor the kernel ROM specific; discussion makes sense in each thread.

Your exact words were, and I quote: "Esh has stated over and over the battery process of system use is huge when you add in the kernel"

This statement is completely false as E has never once stated such a thing.

Not trying to pick a fight, and I am not trolling and I do not disagree with your philosophy that kernel discussion should be in a kernel thread.

Here is the purpose of my last comment: People may show up in the thread and read your statement that I just quoted and think that E frowns on custom kernels and has stated that they cause high batt drain when he has never stated either.

Havent updated to 1.7 yet but is anyone else seeing that notifications LEDs, purple and red LED, is now constant instead of pulsing? My text message, blue, still pulses like on stock.

Understand, " let me clear up the statement you ref. I never stated or implied anything remotely that kernels are bad or that I speak for E and his team. The statement references a comment about the process that are envoled in the system usage within the OS. the kernel is directly tied to the process. When people post pics of battery usage and ask why is this running out of juice so fast, and I am running XXXX kernel. the functions within this graph are huge but portray a modicum of information. If that is why a dump was requested by E. I reference this as the expectation of the user is that the team will know their issues based on a pic and a kernel they (devs) don't USE. I am just tired of seeing the same thing in 325 pages. The if you have kernel question go to the maker. I would you post in XXXX kernel post " hey can you fix the YYYY Rom I'm using?"

That's all I'm saying. I'll shut my mouth on this and just Wade through the flotsam.....

I have read the last 5 pages or so and haven't seen anything this for 1.7 so I am going to stick my neck and post........

The double-tap home button now brings up S-voice for me but using the button on my Jawbone to get into voice dialing still brings up Google, would like S voice if possible. I have looked at all the google apps and see nowhere to clear a default for voice dialing, if someone can tell where that is it would be wonderful, not sure its a bug in the ROM as I did NOT wipe (except for cache and davlik) before flashing from 1.6. Thanks and please do not kill me if I missed something, if I did I humbly put out my wrists for a slap.....

We're working on that. We're tying different things to get GNow to pull up over bluetooth, but nothing has worked yet. But if you clear app defaults then the double tap on home function to bring up either GNow or S Voice should be working fine, just not over bluetooth yet

Thanks for the quick reply I figured that was the case and yes the double-tap home does work fine so there's that to use for now. In the car I use a holder that puts the phone in easy reach so its not a deal breaker for me . Appreciate all the work

In v1.6 my incoming coming and outgoing calls showed the state on the caller id. In v1.7 it's back to saying Verizon Wireless. Could you make it show the state like before? Thanks in advance.
