Man this really sucks. I feel like I am chancing my tail. Nothing works and my tablet is still locked up. Begin moving to my new house tomorrow so no time to try and fix it in the fore see able future. If anybody comes up with anything I would love you forever.

If you can, please small instructions to go back to the stock recovery step by step.

I had a lot of FCing before this. Now, very very little and I only had to force reboot it once in the past few weeks.
Were you able to receive AT&T updates after that? Can you please post some links and a quick step-by-step to get back to this stage of wonderfulness?
Thanks
Kenny

Default roms and more threads

hey guys, I'm wanting to get an element, but what's the point in installing cwm if there are no roms being developed for this tablet??? I have to say I'm surprised at how little interest there seems to be in this tablet and its development. I want it for the waterproof abilities (I like to watch netflix in the tub) but I don't want to be stuck with the stock rom. I'd like to load a vanilla android os, prefferably cyanogenmod based, but this device doesn't even have its own section in the main forums board.. what's the deal with that?

well... this long at least. I just ordered mine. I can't believe how underwhelming a response this device has had in the community. I'm really hoping a dev will pick up this device. I have a friend who devs for the galaxy tab 7.. i might see if I can persuade him to dev for this too.

Guys im livid... I saw what were some pretty decent guides on hacking this thing and spent hours last night in CMD in a loop of HELL.. Just got one of these off ebay
followed this guide here
http://rootzwiki.com/topic/22981-roo...ntech-element/
And by no means is this a guide that everyone can use...

I got stuck @ adb reboot bootloader and the Element kept powering off,and had to keep powering it on after having to plug it into the wall (pain in arse)..

Bottom line i finally read somewhere that it needs a oem unlock ,which i ran the command, and it said "ok" or "successful" or whatever..
By this time i had been playing with this effing thing for 8 hours..dont remember what i did next, but managed to get it into Fastboot mode, and then somehow rebooted. Blah

Im so twisted up with all that ive read, and me not having had to use sdk stuff in so long,i was hoping for a refresher,or some advice on this bros.

Not that theres roms or anything for this, but you understand,i MUST be its master! HELP Could someone knowledgable PM me please?

Default Don't buy it!!

I really started to hate this tablet. After a full factory restore, included original boot and recovery images, it stills doesn't want to update. I tried 100 of times, simply this tablet is a mess a doesn't worth my efforts. Another craptablet I suppose.

I don't think the hardware of this tablet is crap, I think the rom is a bit unstable because ATT didn't put enough time into stabilizing their final version before release. If we could get more support in the community to build CM for this device, it would be a lot better.

Tried both a mouse and an external flash drive, both worked fine.

Plugging in a full external hard-drive that draws a lot of power over USB didn't work so fine, causes a consistent reboot.
I'm trying to use an external flash drive with the Element and although it displays a notification indicating a "USB device connected", I can not see the contents in the external_sd folder. If I try this on my Galaxy 3 with the same cable (OTG) it works as expected. I've used the app, "USB Host Diagnostics", and it reports "Claims support-Yes, Classes found-yes, Device detected-Yes". I've tried changing the Debug setting and allowing unknown sources with no change. When I remove the USB cable I get a notification message, "device unexpectedly removed".

I just tried looking for my drive using OfficeSuite Pro and it had a location choice of OTG storage and there everything was! Now need free app to use with OTG storage.

Any ideas?
Cheers!

I'm beginning to think I need a non-OTG cable to copy to and from my usb external flash drive or sd card. Any suggestions?
