the only variant the have is the $45 nationwide "unlimited" (but-not-really) everything, and the $60 worldwide "unlimited" (crappy-and-not-really-unlimited) plan

try changing the apn and remove proxy if you have a AT&T carrier for your ST

It almost sounds like ST isn't worth it. T-Mobile is way better because even though they got last in the latest JD Power report on CS, it sounds way better than ST. Concur? I was wondering if until T-Mobile rolls out 1900 MHz 3g here it wouldn't be bad to port and go there on AT&T then go back when they have 3g?

I guess my question is, are they that bad that I should just wait on edge?

ST is actually not that bad,
you just got to have luck that the system does'nt do crap on ya,

TMo is ok, but the networks of AT&T are the best

Never had the proxy in, but what are you suggesting about changing the APN? To what? I currently use the APN that ST provides except I remove the proxy. If there is some different proxy I should use please suggest! I'll edit it a screenshot of what I'm using.

Thanks! Is there any startup costs? Do I just order the SIM, pay 45 bucks, and I'm good to go? (Obviously port the number and have T-Mobile SIM still active.)

yea,
like buy a sim and put a $45 card and you are good to go,
no additional charges,
number port is also free and takes from an hour to 3 business days to complete

My only issue is if im on wifi then i turn it off i am unable to connect to data or it takes 10 minutes to connect. I usually have to goto apn settings , hit save , then reboot phone to get it to connect. I have no proxy in and ive tried multiple apn settings same problem no matter what. This all started about 3 to 4 weeks ago. Before that i never had this problem on st. I even flashed a different rom last night to find out if it was my phone. It wasnt. Ive been on 3 seperate roms all have same issue. On a sode note my friend was on his iphone att and his data wasnt working. We both restarted our phones and both got data to connect again. Sounds like att is crapping out possibly ?

Yeah there's something going on, but I'm thinking its ST. With the increase of subscribers they are prolly messing with certain proxies and servers to route and monitor traffic. So many errors I ordered a TMo card to try out. Not going to port just mess with it for a month and see if its worth it. Does anyone know how to track minutes used on ST? I'm curious how much I actually use!

I helped my brother change from h2o to ST and the first half of the month was okay then it started effing him up with dropped calls and dropped data connection very frequently. Actually getting the same thing. He's passed and want to change unless there's a way to fix all that. Before we can do speed tests and now we can't at all.
