I'm just trying to say it's not as black and white as you guys think it is, there's gotta be something more to this as Apple's ideas have been being copied for decades (and they have copied from others) but they've never done this before. I don't understand where this recent legal stint has come from but we can't be Android fans and act like Apple are nothing but a thorn in our sides, it'd be like having (and loving) a PlayStation Move but dispising Nintendo; you KNOW they made it happen in the first place, Nintendo just seem to be better sports about it all than Apple are being right now.
But seriously come on, we must be mature and look at this objectively, there are reasons for all this, I just hope the case can be dealt with without causing too much damage to either product. The fierce competition is what has made these phones so damn good.
I know you all love to hate Apple but as a neutral tech fan I must note that this all seems very out of character for them. Somebody put iOS to shame? So make iOS better in response, keep things moving, don't just try to stamp them out with legal bullying, it's pathetic.
Edit: Just wanted to add my two cents to the stupid "Bill Gates' tablet PC" trend as it was brought up... That was a completely different device... A stylus-cobtrolled slab with a desktop OS, modern tablets are all about the multitouch and apps. And you don't hear people whining about how Mac OS pioneered icons and mouse control but Windows gets the glory, and why would you? It'd be silly. I'm not sure where everybody got this chip on their shoulder. Rejoice in competition. If the iPhone 5 turns out brilliant that gives Google motivation to make their next version even better and so on. I may not be a fan of the iPad but I am grateful for what it started and helps to push.
