Because everything is managed by the kernel itself the phone goes to deep sleep and stays in deep sleep. Which effect you use should be irrelevant. I would even submit that "steady" consumes more power than breathing or blinking, because the LEDs constantly drains power. In "breathing" mode the kernel gradually increases or decreases the LED voltage, but it just stays on maximum voltage very short in contrast "steady" stays on maximum voltage all the time.
Don't get me wrong but how to understand your first sentence (quoted above)? I would say (correct me if I am wrong) that even if you activate BLN feature in ExTweaks and it works when you test it in ExTweaks, it doesn't mean that touchkey backlights notifications will work for missed calls, unread sms etc. unless you have a third party apps which are able to trigger light signal for particular notifications (because sammy apps aren't). Regards

Hi Many40,

what you say is of course right but we weren't talking about triggering BLN but rather the BLN effects themselves after BLN was triggerd. What I meant was, that there are kernels that don't support "blinking" as a mode (Matr1x kernel for Galaxy Nexus S for example) that can be chosen like in ExTweaks for Siyah. Some Kernels can only light up the leds steadily until screen goes on. Those kernels only know LED on or off, nothing else. The kernel isn't able to let the led blink by itself, so you need an additional third party app that recognizes the trigger from a messaging app for example and then sends "LED on" and "LED off" signals to the kernel every few seconds over a specific time to achieve a blinking like effect. And that litteraly drains the battery because the cpu doesn't go to deep sleep anymore.

We are just spoiled by Siyah
Device: Samsung Galaxy S2 I9100
ROM: NEAT ROM Lite v4.2 XWLS8 (deodexed)
Theme: Alliance Mod AOSP Themed
Kernel: SiyahKernel v6b4 (governor: pegasusq / scheduler: sio)

Battery really is improving.
I've done exTweaks according to the other thread, -50mV UV and few more things,
Ive been using 3G all day, sync is on..I barely touched the phone, as I was busy at work..but Im on 72% after 14.5hours of use, 30minutes phone calls & 30mins screen.
Thats ok, right?
Anker 1900mah battery
