Please Click Thanks below if I've helped at all, but more importantly please donate to XDA Developers to help keep this place running, 10 Euros isn't much and for that you get to have a funky wee Star

no phone officially is getting it... so i'm thinking maybe hd2 won't get it...

if hd7 would be getting a win 8, then hd2 would have got it

i mean, at the end, we would need the drivers right ?
HTC HD2 R.I.P. ... We had a good Run. !!!
Bought another HD2

Maybe a strange remark from my side but 7.8 will come in the form of an update just like Mango & Tango as far as i understand.
Why would the 7.8 update be any harder to deploy then any other update we have had from 7004 (not talking about the HTC updates that include drivers made for the HD7)?

Even if the normal update procedure would not work we can rebuild the current rom in osbuilder with the update applied.
HTC HD2
ROM: Yuki & XBmod Windows Phone 7 v7.10.7740.16
WP 7 Radio: 5.71.09.02a_22.51.50.21U
WM6.5 Radio: 2.15.50.14

the question is, what to buy next? even though the HD2 has suprised us many times before, it is time to move on. What is the best WP8 phone at the moment?
All major manufacturers has anounced their line up. From my point of view, the Samsung ATIV S has the best specs. It may lack innovative camera technology or wireless charging, but it has everything the others don't have: big screen, removable storage, removable (high capacity) battery and one of the thinnest WP8 phone out there. This sure must be a compelling device to develop (custom roms) for, I'd like to know from the man who gave WP7 to our HD2: what are you going to get?
