Put a thin piece of wire on the dock with transparent tape at the bottom ( where the back of the phone lays ) Lay the thin wire over the dock ..
Now you can easily pull out your phone with the wire ...

Mine turned up today, and with the official hard shell (HC C704) it fits nicely and isn't hard to remove (it's harder to put in just right than remove it).

I've also had the crackles/interference that others have reported, but after cleaning the contacts on the phone (a bit of IPA and light rubbing with a pin) the noise is gone. I don't have a problem with the phone getting hot, but I've set Tasker to turn the screen off which no doubt helps.

Finally, I'm quite impressed with the quality of the speaker. It may not be audiophile quality, but it's clear and loud enough for me.

I received mine couple of days back and I am TOO pleased with what I see. It works perfectly the way it is suppose to work.. I am very happy with this product. Sound qaulity is good for personal speakers..no buzzing sound or any other shortcoming as reported by few members in this forum. Just wish there was a easy way to take out phone from dock.....!!

I received an OTA system update a couple of days ago and my impression is they changed the phone's behavior in the dock. There's hardly any buzzing now when I put it in the dock and the screen turns off after the usual time limit set for normal mode has elapsed. It does not get hot at all now and I wonder if this is only because of the screen turned off.
Did anyone else notice these or other changes with the last update? I'm on Android 4.0.4, Sense 4.1, and "Software number" (whatever that is) 2.17.401.2 now. Actually I would like to have the screen stay on in dock mode and just dimmed, like it was before, because the power button is so hard to reach when docked. I don't see any option for this, so I guess I'll have to set a profile in tasker to do this.

The buzzing sound had been bothering me the last few days. It wasn't noticeable initially. It happened in bursts every 10 seconds or so. Seeing as I didn't have any cleaning solution I used a little white rum on a cotton bud and wiped it straight off. Since then, the buzzing noise is completely gone!

There is a setting like "don't turn off the screen while charging" (Display settings, third one)
Does this work?

Yes, it does. But when I'm on a trip and I charge the phone with the power unit I don't want the screen to stay on, so I'll still have to use Tasker to change the behavior depending on dock status.

ThOught I would check the dock out. Amazon here in the states had the doc for 30 dollars plus 6 shipping there abouts. I hope it works.

Good luck, I wouldn't be surprised if you're getting the dock for the One XL (sold as One X in the US market), which I understand has the pogo pins in a slightly different position.
Head of an Android household: HTC One X+ International 64GB, HTC One X International 32GB, two hopelessly unstable Asus Eee Pad Transformers (32GB and 16GB, each with keyboard docks; remember -- friends don't let friends buy Asus), Samsung Galaxy Ace, and a Fuhu Nabi 2.

I hope not but will see. Looks like it is shipping from the pacific rim area to the states. So not amazon themself but a third party supplier. Si I am much more hopeful now.
