Default help!

So I *thought* I transfered the new zip to my SD but it didnt work. I wiped the system, cache, and davlik (sp?) cache. Now while in CM, nothing works... it just shows the little android guy loading, and doesnt let me access any files/reboot or anything.

Edit: i just did a battery pull and booted in CM again and it works. My issue now is that I dont have any roms on in my internal memory and because i dont have an additional SD card, my backups didnt save apparently.

So if you can not get to your backup in CWM, you will need to put yourself into DL mode and using adb flash back to stock. Please check the Directory for I747 in my sig and look through for more info

If it works - I've been using SMS backup and restore from play store because TiBu didn't work for me (although they've updated it several times since).

You didn't say messaging app before, you said "restore messages" - TiBu has a specific utility to back up and restore text messages - which is what it sounded like you meant. You could try that, or like we both said, get SMS backup and restore (he makes a nice one for call logs, too )
