I wonder how many have flashed this rom because if there's a high chance of brick and is not a "user fault" then is best for the OP to remove the download links, at least until we find what's causing this bricks.
For those guys that already bricked please be aware that to recover from this hard brick you will need a "fully working" NVflash method (some encryption keys are needed for that afaik) and not the one that you can find on AndroidRoot.mobi for Tegra 3 because this last one even if someone will port it to TF 700 you need a working fastboot mode the first time you use it so not really useful for bricked devices. So if Asus offers to fix it, go for it... even if you have to pay.

Could wiping the system be causing this?

I've been talking with a friend over IRC (TheCubed/IOMonster) and he thinks the fix for the surfaceflinger not starting up on boot is you might have the wrong permissions on /dev/nv*.

He thinks it's an issue with the init script.

So has this been abandoned?

No trees were destroyed in the sending of this message though a significant number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

I hope not. I'm really disappointed about the lack of development so far for our tablets. I wish I was smart enough to be able to do it myself.

Probably not. I expect we'really all just waiting for the OTA from ASUS at this point. After which development may resume.
