Default Should I worry about screen burn in?

I'm considering getting the S3 but Im worried about screen burn in. I'm the type of user who uses the lowest brightness possible. Should I worry?

I don't think burn ins are a concern with these screens. I left my screen on on a few separate occasions displaying a single image for over 7 hours each time with no problems so far.

I wouldn't worry. You need a still image to be up for an extrenuous amount of time. It is possible though, but you'd almost have to try. I haven't seen any posts with users with screen burn either.

Does using the lowest brightness possible reduce the chances of this happening or it doesn't matter?

Yeah, you never see much complaints about it but it's definitely possible. I'm going to guess it's less possible than previous version of the AMOLED displays. On my samsung infuse after 2 years of using the AOSP android keyboard, I could somewhat see an imprint of the keyboards keys whenever a dark-grey image is displayed on the whole screen but it was extremely minor.

You will get some burn-in with AMOLED after a few years no matter what. Pentile AMOLED (in the S1 and S3) is also superior to the AMOLED+ in the S2 for longevity, or so says Samsung.

My 2-year old Captivate has some up top where the notification bar is, and on the bottom where the keyboard is, and where the high-contrast black&white WordFeud game tiles are that I always play.

The burn-in ghosting isn't THAT noticeable, though, unless you're viewing mostly white images or webpages.

S3 do have burn ins just to let you know. Download screen filter and lower the filter to 10% or maybe 0% and you will see imprints. or download dead pixel test and the second color will show also all your burn in.

Also be in a dark room. Since in daylight you won't see the result.
