The things that are broken are manageable. But I would like to work on some of the borked things and because I'm a JB noob, need some help/links, please.

1) 9016 text when I recieve a voicemail. Heard of a fix but can't find it.

2) No video play back that works. I've installed Flash, no go and mp4 doesn't start. Even YouTube... It'll load and play but very choppy. Not choppy as in stuttering but it blinks like someone is playing with the lights, turning them on and off.

3) Battery life is pretty rough (for me). Any kernels for JellyBean or does ICS or AOSP kernels work? Or any tweaks that'll help? I figure some of the video issues are kernel related, too.

4) Not that I need to, but if I wanted to add A2SD, would Dark Tremor's work? I am partitioned, ext4.

Again, great rom for my phone. I might just hang on to the ole OG for a while now. Was getting a little bored with 1.0 roms but now I have something new to play with. Thanks

I also get the 9016 text, I just ran some you tube vids and they run fine on 3g, my battery seems to never go down and I have original kernal

I dont use A2SD - dont have that many apps but I did NOT change any partitions - I am original from the .76 bootloader and now my 4G runs great - except no 4g wimax (not in my area and wont be)

Mazda - thanks again - sent you a donation - let me know if you got it so I'll know it went through to right person

I will let it settle but from past experiences, I'm pretty sure I'll need to do something to improve battery. Is there other kernels? Or is there tweaks/scripts that'll help. Governors/schedulers that are working better for other folks? Again, thanks for replying.

Then it'll ask if you wanna move dalvik, yes. Then it'll ask if you wanna move data, no. Then it'll ask if you wanna reboot, yes, done.

That was it, thanks. Actually I had already did "reinstall" as CRIME suggested. When I got the error, I put on the brakes and asked. Thanks, again.

For anyone who wants to stop the 9016 texts, Private SMS & call in the Market. At least until I find a mod fix (if there is one).

The 9016 texts are for the voice mail system (as you probably figured out on your own). Any SMS app that can be set up to block (ignore) numbers will do the trick.

I don't remember where i saw it, but the video issues in YouTube app have a fix and (if I remember correctly) should be incorporated in to the next update. I personally use rockplayer for video playback with no problems. And watching YouTube videos via the stock browser works great for me.

Tried flash, got it slightly working, but it's still horribly broken.

Battery life for me has been horrible. 3+ weeks now as my one and only rom and no improvement. While different governor settings have had minimal difference, the biggest drain according to the stats has been the screen. Still trying different tweaks, but no luck. As long as the screen is on I burn through about 1% every 1 - 2 minutes. Everything else seems to perform great. Ondemand and smartass governors both perform good. Smartass seems to scale up faster resulting in less "lag". Powersave helps battery life a bit, but results in major "lag" and has little effect on the battery drain caused by the screen being on.

Btw, tried changing the screen density from 240 to 216: no power savings, but I did end up having a rendering problem with the hackers keyboard. Density of 220 fixed that problem and helps format web pages in the stock browser better (to my liking, at least)

Never used a2sd, apps2sd, or anything that moved stuff to the SD card, so I can't comment on that.

Probably forgetting some more things...

Shadow,
I won't quote your post out of respect for those who have issues with people who quote long posts, but thanks.
I did add an app to block the 9016 texts. I also got YouTube working by reinstalling.
I will try your governor/scheduler combo.
Only thing not answered - another kernel? Searching leads me to think the answer is no.
I'm enjoying this rom so much I think I'll flash back and forth between this and a rom that give me the battery I need for work. Like I stated, I have never gotten a non-Gingerbread rom to work as well as this one.
Really do appreciate the time you took to answer my questions. Worthy of multiple "thanks" but I can only give one.

Oh, and I had issues before with the Market when adjusting scree density. Just a heads up.

Thanks for the heads up about the market, haven't seen any issue with it yet. Also didn't intend to quote everything before, just started falling asleep last night and hit send without proofreading.

Last I checked there were no other kernels that worked without bootlooping, freezing, or breaking something.

Aside from the small bugs previously discussed and features dependent on kernel and/or proprietary code, everything else has been running great on this rom.

In regards to the screen battery drain, had anyone tried the CM9 backlight settings on this ROM?

Yes, I have been using, and works failry well. I get the best battery usage if I keep my 3g off when I am not in wifi range, and use 3g when needed using toggle which comes with this ROM. Here is the link if you don't have it.

I flashed the zip from this post for the new CM10 messaging. Seems to be working good so far. I'm sure this will be in the update, still figured I'd share it.

(The messaging is inverted with the option to add the next line or smilie button on the keyboard)

Try Green Power app. Automatically toggles wifi/data and automatically turns them on/off. Been using it for more than a year.

coming in on tail end of this so sorry in advance if this has already been stated; battery lasts a bit longer if you let it charge to 100%, boot into smelkis recovery and wipe battery stats while at 100%. Rom Toolbox, start up manager (I think) and stop apps from starting up that you don't need to start up. I get very decent battery life on this rom.
