htc hd2 touch diamond with windows 6.5

Let me start by saying I purchased this phone brand new(supposedly) from amazon. Hope I wasn't sent a clone.

1) I have windows 7 on my HP labtob computer, when I try to sync the phone it comes up saying generic rndis. I can't find a driver for this generic rndis? Contacted HTC and the driver link they sent me does not work. It seems the phone's windows op. sys is old and cannot work with windows 7, only XP and Vista? Can someone please help as I cannot link the phone to my only computer.

2) The internet won't stay connected. I keep getting the message: "unable to connect to the GPRS service in your network." I live in the Bahamas by the way. I tried the usual : Setting. wireles controls. Wi fi networks. I see the available network, but the connection will not stay connected. I will surf the web for a few minutes then it kicks me off with that message: "unable to connect to the GPRS service in your network."

Help please
